I am still alive. I just really haven’t had anything to talk about of late. I’ve just been busy starving myself, hanging around on Blip.fm, getting back into Twitter (I don’t know why either), blended with watching bits of TV and watching all 5 series of Peep Show to bring me up to date.
I am IN LOVE with Peep Show. Can’t believe I never watched it from the start. As Em keeps saying to me, Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb) are probably MORE like David and Rob than we should really think about! There are some really naughty bits in it though that I love, like Mark bumping into Dobby in the stationery room in series 5 and she gets all moochy with him, gyrating her bum against his crotch and proceeds to make him jiz his trousers! I can’t wait for series 6 now!! I recorded a programme which we watched last night about Paul (rent-a-gob) Morley and his “journey” through fashion. He spoke to Jarvis Cocker at one point about his fashion style, which inspired my subconscious to have two dreams. One earlier in the night, which I barely remembered about me and Em helping Jarvis buy a new wardrobe of clothes. The other, just before I woke up this morning on Jarvis sending us a letter of thanks for helping him buy his new wardrobe! Daft! I’m always amused when my dreams immediately correlate with something I’ve just done or seen the previous day or night! I did my back in a few days ago. Don’t know how, but it was KILLING me for like 3 days. Finally it has gotten better and I’m okay again now. Well, I better be off. I’m trying a new recipe for tea tonight. Hope it’ll be good. It’s a pasta dish.Howdy Ho Kyle!
As you know, I love my darts. I’ve been watching most of the games all week, following my particular favourites, Martin (Wolfie) Adams and Ted (The Count) Hankey.
I’ve been following Ted for quite a few years now and in the early days I used to refer to him as “Mr. Hankey, the Christmas poo” after the South Park character. It used to give me and Em a little giggle that his name was Hankey… Well, I haven’t done that for a while, but then I noticed this last night when I was watching… I had to wind back the PVR to get the pic. I love how they’ve even added a steaming turd at the end of the sign!! (LOL) What makes it even funnier is that that is Sharon Adams in the foreground to the right side of the sign. It was team Wolfie’s table!!! I can’t work out now if that was meant to be a sign of support or not now, but it SO made me chuckle when I saw it. I don’t know if you can make it out, but also, on the table is a little Mr. Hankey toy – you might just be able to make out the little Santa hat Mr. Hankey wears? Oh man, that pic is GOLD!Even People At The Darts Want To Know
As Pixie-Anne Wheatley on Fast Forward used to say (if you’re Australian, you might get the reference), “It’s the question that’s on the lips and tips of everyone’s thingies”…
Very strange to see the Royal fraternity at the darts last night. Both Mike Tindle (Zara Philips’ squeeze) and Peter Philips were there. Gawd, even the hoi polloi at the darts. How poosh!!A New Baby David Clip!
I got this two nights ago off a programme on BBC Three called Almost Famous in which they show clips of stars from TV shows, adverts, school productions, etc, shot before they were famous – obviously. This is a different clip from the Dramarama episode Mr T was in WAY back in 1988!

I love baby David! Aaawwww
What Economic Downturn?
We went shopping yesterday. I was wanting to go to see Australia at the cinema, but the film is SO long, it would’ve depleted any chance to shop. So we just shopped.
I’ve been wanting to get slippers, so went into the cheapy shoe shop and they had some marked down to £2.49. That’ll do me! So I got myself a pair. Em’s been wanting Wellington’s so she could work on the allotment site. The store had wellies, but not in her size. I asked at the counter did they have any in the Em’s size (size 9) and the girl says to me “they start at size 11”. WTF? She went on “unless you want the designer ones like Disney or Spongebob” then I was like – in my head going “Oh, she must have thought I meant kiddies sizes” I said “No, I mean mens sizes” – and she just looked at me and said “Yeah”, then said “Oh, you’ve got two left slippers, hold on” and walked off to get my right slipper. When she came back, she didn’t pick up where she left off, so I’m STILL none the wiser if they were any size 9 mens wellies. I can’t imagine they’d have 8’s and 10’s but no 9’s! It left my rather perplexed. I’m sure she never had a second thought about it. How DO people like that get jobs? Anyway, on to Debenhams. Where I had two missions. One – to find some nice new towels – hopefully marked down in the sales. Success, yay!! Two lovely Christy towels marked down to half price. I was happy with those. The other was to find a Radley purse. Unlike when we got to the homewears bit and there were towels aplenty to chose from, the Radley purse section had been WIPED OUT! There were like 3 purses left and none of them took my fancy. There were more Foirelli bags than you could shake a stick at by comparison though. All these years being a Foirelli girl, but none of them really took my fancy, and most weren’t even discounted anyway. So, that’s why I ask, what economic downturn? Certain swathes of Debenhams had been completely wiped out! It was insane! After that we went to HMV, but no DVD’s took my fancy and not many things were marked down. Then on to Wilkinsons. Just bit and bobs from there. Restocking of food for the birds and little things like that. Into WH Smith to find a Playboy alarm clock, but it wasn’t there. Playboy I hear you say? Yes, but not from some weird kinkiness, but because the clock face is meant to have hands that glow in the dark. It’s a long story which I might write about in a future post. Suffice it to say, we lucked out. Lastly to Maplin’s to get some DVD+R’s. That was it, shopping done. Me with a broken back and aching feet. I SO need to lose weight. Here comes a resolution!I’ve Seen 85 Films In A List Of 244.
SUPPOSEDLY if you’ve seen over 85 films, you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 244 films on this list. Copy this list, to do it yourself. List it on your own blog, etc. Then, put x’s next to the films you’ve seen, add them up, change the header adding your number, and click post at the bottom. Have fun.

A very merry Christmas and happy New Year to you all 🙂
Hell! Another List!
This one from subgirl’s site now!
Where did you begin 2008?At home. What was your status by Valentine’s Day?
Erm, I assume this means lovelife status? Married still. Were you in school (anytime this year)?
No. Did you have to go to the hospital?
Not myself. But Em did for a post-operative check up. Did you have any encounters with the police?
No. Where did you go on vacation?
To Lincolnshire/Leicester for 3 days for our wedding anniversary in March. What did you purchase that was over $500?
Nothing. Did you know anybody who got married?
No. Did you know anybody who passed away?
No. Did you move anywhere?
No. What sportng events did you attend?
None. What concerts/shows did you go to?
Only thing I did that was “concerty” was see U2:3D at an Imax cinema in Birmingham. Where do you live now?
Luton, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. Describe your birthday.
Busy playing with my combined Birthday/Xmas gift, my Creative Zen X-Fi. What’s the one thing you thought you would never do but did in 2008?
Go bankrupt. What has/have been your favorite moments?
Our anniversary away, my birthday (‘cos of my pressie) and meeting new friends online. What’s something you learned about yourself?
I can actually stick to a New Year’s resolution!! Any new additions to your family?
No. What was your best month?
Probably March, ‘cos of our anniversary and silly things like Doctor Who being back on the tele! What music will you remember in 2008?
The Ting Tings. Who has been your best drinking buddy?
Well I don’t really drink – well, only like maybe once a year or something – and I tend to get pi**ed alone, so, erm, ME? Made new friends?
Online ones, yes. Favorite Night[s] out?
Seeing U2:3D (if it counts as “night out”) apart from the fact I tripped on the escalator and skinned my ankle on the escalator steps – OUCH! Any regrets?
None. What do you want to change in 2009?
My weight – but I doubt it will, I have no willpower. Overall, how would you rate this year?
Possibly a 7/10. Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
In Luton town centre – shopping (there wasn’t much time at all that I wasn’t at home). Have any life changes in 2008?
Yes, went through a bankruptcy. Change your hairstyle?
No. Get a new job?
No. How old did you turn this year?
38. Did anything embarrassing?
Live. Buy anything new from eBay?
No. Get married or divorced?
No. Be honest – did you watch American Idol?
No, but I *did* watch the UK Big Brother – sadly! Did you get sick this year?
Just the usual head cold/sore throat thing. Start a new hobby?
Can David Tennant be classified as a hobby? Been snowboarding?
Hell no! Drank Starbucks in 2008?
No, but had the UK equivalent – Costa. What are you wishing for in 2009?
What I bloody wish for every year – financial security.
I Can’t Resist A List!
You know me and lists. I saw this one on Lisa’s blog and couldn’t help myself!
Stayed single almost the whole year? No. Been married for 10 years now! That’s half the life sentence served 🙂 Kissed someone new?
I don’t think so…not met any new ppl this year (well, not in real life). Done something you’ve regretted?
Not kept on Em’s back to get the night away at Luton Hoo hotel!!!
Lost someone close?
No. Were involved in something you’ll never forget?
With my memory? Even if it was the most important thing in the world – I’d STILL forget it!! lol Visited a different country?
No, sadly. Cooked a gross meal?
I can’t think. I did a vegetarian mince/cottage pie thingy that was only just palatable. But apart from that, I can’t think of anything truly gross. Lost something important to you?
My pet goldfish, Psychs. Got a gift you adore?
My Creative Zen X-Fi, LOVE IT! Tripped over a coffee table?
No, but fell UP the stairs – what a prawn I am!! Dyed your hair?
Yes, red – for the first time in about 3 years. Went to a party?
No. Saw one of your favourite bands/artists live?
Flippin ‘eck! I WISH!! I saw The Killers on TV at Glastonbury – does that count? Did you meet any new friends this year?
Yes, one or two online ones that I’ve got close to. Did you dislike anyone?
I’m sure I’ve got a list – but they are mostly air-head or annoying celebs or whatever. I hardly meet anyone in “real” life I dislike. Did you grow apart from anyone?
Erm, not that I’m aware of. I hope not. If I have, I’m unaware of it and it was unintentional. Do you have any regrets when it comes to your friendships?
Too much to go into detail. 2008: Your BIRTHDAY!
Did you have cake?
I think I just had chocolate (like every other day of the year!) Did you have a party?
No.
How old did you turn?
38 2008: All about YOU
Did you change at all this year?
Well, I got one year older, probably gained even MORE weight, started an un-nerving obsession about David Tennant and increased my dementia.
Did you get your hair cut?
Yes, about 3 times at least, possibly 4. Did you change your style?
No, I’m happy with where I’m at with my style.
Did you have a job?
No Did you drive?
No Did you move at all?
No Did you go on any vacations?
Up to Lincolnshire for our 10th anniversary in March – that’s all. Would you change anything about yourself now?
Weight, age… 2008: Wrap UP:
Was 2008 a good year?
Fairly much so… Do you think 2009 will top 2008?
It depends on what you mean by “top”. If it means as in will it be better? I’m unsure…don’t dare want to jinx myself. I confess that in 2008 I…

Much Better.
That was a bad day the other day. I felt awful. I’m feeling much better now. Thank goodness. I’d been a bit worried about myself there. Thankfully it was just a pre-Christmas bump.
Just finished the last of the online food shop. That gets delivered tomorrow. I had to scoot around the other day when Gilly took us to Letchworth to get a mock (vegetarian) turkey roll from Holland and Barrett. Flippin’ £4.25 it cost! It’ll barely feed me and Em. Just enough for both of us. I’m totally splurging on nice food this year. We had a bleak Xmas last year, so this one will be special. And we’ve got alcohol too! I got a bottle of Disaronno from Morrisons the other day (almond liqueur, like marzipan) and I’ve also got a bottle of Midori (melon liqueur) coming and a couple of packs of snowballs (advocaat mixer). Sssooo looking forward to the Doctor Who Christmas special. I’m counting down the day to Xmas by the number of days left before I get to see the special! That’s bad! I’ve got plans to go and see Australia at the cinema as well. I saw the Newsnight Review on the BBC and it was slated by Germaine Greer and other members on the review panel. It sounded SO bad, it’s good! Just a little bit of bits and bobs today. Laters…
